You've probably noticed something different — this newsletter has changed its name from Failed State Update to Paranoid History. And here’s why: After months of work, I'm thrilled to announce the launch of my new podcast: A Paranoid's History of the United States. Named after Howard Zinn's seminal book A People's History of the United States, the show focuses on the conspiracies that have shaped our nation's past and present.
The first episode drops this Saturday, April 19th, on the 32nd anniversary of the Waco disaster. Our debut will feature special guest Mark Jacobson, the journalist and author of the book Pale Horse Rider, which examines (among other things) the role of the Waco massacre in conspiracy culture.

What to Expect
Every Saturday, we'll explore American history through the lens of its most eccentric beliefs. You’ll meet a high-ranking FBI agent whose late-career transformation saw him become one of the most influential conspiracy theorists of the 20th century. You’ll learn how Air Force intelligence agents created the modern UFO mythology as a psyop. You’ll discover the strange truth about Havana Syndrome. And that’s just the first few weeks of the series.
